Orange Works will host a Job Fair at the Newburgh Mall on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Orange Works is part of Orange County’s dynamic Workforce Development System, and is tasked with the mission of helping Orange County residents find employment. Orange Works knows what businesses are actively seeking employees. So, attendees at this easy-to-attend job fair should find no shortage of employers from the Orange County region who have many positions to fill.
If you have not yet had the chance, here is an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates for Newburgh City Council and City Mayor. On Wednesday, October 21, 2015, beginning at 6:30 PM in the Newburgh Board of Education Upstairs Auditorium, the NAACP will host 2 single-moderator style debates. First, the candidates for City Council debate at 6:30 PM. Then, the candidates for mayor will face off in a separate debate at 7:30 PM. Both debates will be aimed at eliciting positions from the candidates on prospective strategies, programs and proposed services to improve the quality of life for citizens of Newburgh, NY.
A River of Opportunities is hosting an event for anyone inspired by the repurposing of historic buildings, and how renovating old, industrial buildings allows those structures to take on new life and purpose. The event is called “Transforming Historic Manufacturing/Warehouse Buildings from Present Day Use,” and will be held on October 21, 2015, from 10 AM to 3 PM, at 639 Broadway, in Newburgh, NY. Multiple different aspects of these types of renovations will be discussed, including which types of tenants enjoy these spaces, to the particular challenges associated with such projects. Scenic Hudson will also be present to discuss the benefits and potential inherent in historic river towns.
On October 21, 2015, from 6PM to 8PM, the Restorative Center at Space Create, will hold another engaging session of “The Newburgh Model of Community Circles.” Are you ready to be a part of creating growth and change? These circles have embraced the motto: “We are all the leaders we have been waiting for.” Former participants have been “inspired” by this “new way to engage and work together.” The Circle will be held at 115 Broadway, Newburgh, NY, the same location as the other sessions.
